Campfires Temporarily Allowed in Coastal Fire Centre

Effective at noon on July 23rd, 2014, campfires will once again be permitted throughout the Coastal Fire Centre's jurisdiction.The Coastal Fire Centre is rescinding its campfire prohibition due to forecasted cool and rainy weather conditions. For more information, click here.

The following uses will now be allowed:

campfires, as defined by the wildfire regulation

open fires in an indoor stove

Residents are encouraged to visit the Wildfire Management Branch website at or call the toll-free number 1-888-336-7378 for more information on campfire bans.

A copy of the Environmental Management Act and map of the prohibited area is now available at the Port McNeill Town Office.
