Are you interested in being a Volunteer Firefighter?
Without our volunteers we would not have a fire
department. Our firefighters make this department the greatest place in Port
McNeill to volunteer! We are always looking for a few more of you, our
citizens, friends and neighbours, to join our team.
If you are community-minded and would
like to offer your services to our Town, call the Fire Department at 956-4513
on Thursday evenings between 7:30 – 9:30 p.m. If you are not quite sure and would like to
test the waters, come out any Thursday for a quick tour and practice with
us.
There is a lot to learn about the
Firefighter’s Creed and the respect you will gain by being a community
volunteer.
You have the opportunity to give your today for
someone else’s tomorrow, help save lives, save property, and, most of all, protect
each other!
What we seek:
Community-minded and spirited individuals who
like to be involved in team efforts and are looking for a challenging, rewarding
experience.
You need to be:
- Team orientated.
- 18 years of age or older (we do have a junior
program, call for more info).
- Healthy and physically fit.
- A good driver (valid driver’s license and good
driving record) with the expectation of getting your Air
Brake endorsement.
We offer:
- Involvement in community activities
including firefighting, rescue, first responder medical services, and public education
events.
- Progressive Training.
- New friends and acquaintances.
- Confidence-building life skills.
- A lot of fun!
