Creating a gathering place for residents and visitors NEAR THE WATER FRONT and HONOURING the 48 yeARS OF SERVICE OF OUR previous mayor, gerry furney.

This project was undertaken with funding from the Canadian Government through its Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program along with other financial and in-kind support.   

 

Old School Recreation Center Accessibility Project

providing access for all residents at the Old school recreation center

This project provided a dedicated area for disabled or mobility challenged people to park and access the Old school Recreation Center using a gradual sloped ramp and automatic door system.  The Town also brought the washrooms up to accessibility standards. 

 

Harbour Beautification Project

Port McNeill Harbour and beach drive Beautification project

This project took on the tasks of burying the power lines along a section of Beach Drive, creating a one-way section of Beach Drive near the Harbour and Information Center, and enhancing the docks and waterfront grounds.

These beautiful entrance signs were installed at the junction of Highway 19 and Campbell Way.  Gardens were built around the signs and solar lighting added to enhance visibility while welcoming people to the Town of Port McNeill.
